The Sunday Times Short Story Award is the richest prize for a single short story in the English language, worth £30,000 to the winner. The award is open to any novelist or short story writer from around the world who is published in the UK.
Bret Anthony Johnston has won the 2017 Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award with his story ‘Half of What Atlee Rouse Knows About Horses’.
American writers are at the core of the six strong shortlist for the 2017 Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award, which is announced today, March 19. This year’s line-up for the prize, at £30,000 the richest in the world for a short story, includes three women and three men, four American writers, one British and one Irish author.
